Spawning of goldfish 7-14th May, didnt see it but big mamma has lost her 'belly', so have a couple of the other females.
Umbrella plant bud opening May 9th, plants are root splittngs recieved last year I think.
Lily pads on the surface or coming up, dont know which cultivars but, as of 14/6/6, there are loads on some and several on most. The only lilies that havent started but that are 'definately' alive are aurora and perhaps sulpherea though I am not sure if the latter is alive or dead and unrotted. Its dead.
Lilly buds, 7-14th May, at the moment I dont know which particular lily they are on but the plant is least a 2 years old in one of my seedling tray 'pots'
First Bog bean blooms opened 13/5/6
First bog arum bloom opened 14/5/6, in fish pond, still green though ie not red yet, bloom never did anything
Noticed first healthy arum lily? leaves through the surface 14/5/6. They are in plant pond, there may be some coming through in the fishpond.
20/5/6 first lily bud in the surface, counted 5 others coming up
21/5/6 Veronica beccabunga blooming plant pond
22/5/6 yellow flags opening wildlife pond
22/5/6 both skunk cabbage 5" tall or there abouts
22/5/6 lesser spearwort in bloom wildlife pond ditto bog bean in 4 seperate places
31/5/6 first damsel (blue), first yellow flag opened, first mayfly, first hatchling fry which may be useful as the heron seems to have scared the crap out of the fish or got most of them. I dont think I have seen the trout in 3 days.
1/6/6 well the trout survived the heron, touch wood
3/6/6 first lily bloom opening, a white in the plant pond, ragged robin? in bloom, Ranunculus aquatilis single bloom opened in the fish pond.
4/6/6 first lily opened, a white in the plant pond
8/6/6 two white lilies open in plant pond and several more opening, several whites opening in the lily pond and a pink in the surface, first one of the tank rubras is open, 5/6 ranunculus aquatalis blooms in the fish pond

Lilies have been superb so far, put several of the new pygmies on the seaward shelf of the plant pond. First ever Colonel A.J. Welch (Sam's plant) bloom opened 2 or 3 days ago, Alison's has yet to bloom.
Floating heart in the plant pond in bloom for about one week. Several water-violet blooms in the wildlife pond over the past fortnight?
25/6/6 water soldier in the wildlife pond in bloom
Still no dragons.

4/7/6 first of the 'pygmies' in the fishpond in bloom, mimulus in bloom for a week or so, floating heart been blooming off and on for a week or so. Lilies doing well thought something is attacking those with in reach of the 'shore' I suspect young magpies, the bits are being left and not eaten.
5/7/6 finally first dragon banana banana banana banana banana

first resident dragon came to 'stay' over the last week but just been visited by a biggie, probably a hawker. It dwarfed the resident darter and it was quite funny watching the presunably male darter trying to see off the hawker.
Lily blooms all over the place and actually had some from the laydekeri fulgens

11/08/06 still a very poor year for dragon flies, 3 is the most I have seen simultaneously this year and usually there is only 1.
Loosestrife in bloom, the one in the fish pond must easily be over 7ft tall 'measured' from the soil in plant bay.
Noticed some arrow head flower buds yesterday, lost track of what lilies blooms there have been but it has been a good year for lilies so far.

28/8/6 problem with water loss from the wildlife pond
laying dragon in the plant pond but very few dragons in general, only ones or twos hopefully I'll have a nother September orgy
Had arrow head in bloom in the fish pond and the loosestrife is doing well, arrow head in the stream not in bloom nor has the pickeral bllomed yet, too much shade from the fuschia?
