Footy

One of my passions is the fantastic football club in the city where I was born and raised called Cardif City FC.

Everyone may well scoff at me supporting such a low-down team, but I was there over 14 years ago when I was but a mere 12 years of age when they played Methyr Tydfil in the 4th round of the Welsh Cup. I went to every home match for 3 seasons which saw is promoted into the 2nd division as champions and then relegated back to the 3rd again 2 seasons later.

Since then, we've made our way to the heady heights of Division 1 and have the financial backing to go all the way to the Premiership. I'll have no-one say that I'm a glory supporter like the Man United etc supporters (most of which have never been to Manchester and couldn't even point to it on a map of Britain btw!) as I've supported them from when they were in the bottom division.

So far this season we've played 3: Won 1, Drawn 1 and Lost 1. Not bad for our first time in this division in 18-odd years!! Lost the game we deserved to win, and drew the game we deserved to lose!! That's just the way it goes!

We've got Derby County (Premier league team 2 seasons ago!)at home tonight. Another win will see us doing very well!!
I'll keep everyone posted on this throughout the season.

I'm well chuffed!!

We've just beaten ex-Premier league outfit Derby County in a very convincing 4-1 win!!

Now in 6th position in the league!! And 2 points behind the leaders!!

Hmmm you wanna be careful when you slag off Man United mate being as I have been a fan of them for 17 years when Ron Atkinson was in charge of a team nearly relegated. Not all of us are glory hunters and the true fans hate the people that jump on that bandwagon anyway. I have been to Manchester and do know where it is I was glad when Beckham left because we got rid of loads of silly girly fans who liked us because he played for the team.

just an idea paul, but would it be poss to include this thread in a general topic called footie or summin.
then we could all talk about our different clubs under the one heading instead of " cardiff, plymouth, man.u. celtic" etc............just a thought ??? ???

Now, there's nothing quite like a Saturday!!

A lie-in and up just in time to watch Football Focus.
Do water changes in the tanks and finish just in time to listen to CCFC live over the internet.
And then, look forward to 9:00 to watch Most Haunted on Living TV (fantastic stuff!!) and then 10:30 it's time to sit down to the Premiership with a Windy-bum (Indian!)!!

What more could a bloke ask for??

Well, the baby will be in bed at that time of night, and when it wakes up, I won't be able to breastfeed now will I!!! LOL!

I'm fully prepared for a rude-awakening, but then, I can dream!! I have a fantastic other half who's been through all this before. She'll point me in the right direction I'm sure!!

If Ann isn't up to it, I can always bottle feed it while watching the footy!! Train 'em young!! I'll be taking the baby into the fishy house when it's done to take a bit off Ann, talking to the little 'un about fantastic corys!!
Poor thing - it won't be able to get away and will have to put up with my constant praising of corys and tank maintenance. You never know, it might be doing water changes for me by the time it's 3 years old!!!
I know that I could operate one of the old reel-to-reel cassette recorders by the time I was 18 months!!! Quick learners us Frosties!!
