After much searching I have found my ULTIMATE live performance amp! (drum role if you will) Presenting the 'Roland CB-100' Bass Amplifier! for those of you who share an interest in musical electronics here are the details:
-100W output
-12" Co-axial speaker
- 'COSM' amplifier modeling processors
- Compression
- EFX (including chorus, flanger, T-wah, Delay and Reverb)
- a full band of equilisers
Even at 4 (out of 10) volume the amp allmost tears the house down!

Glad i don't live next door to you Wink

Puts the little 9W pevey amp i had when i lived at home to shame. Got an acoustic now - trying to teach my five year old to play but neither of us have the patience (he justs like making lot's of noise and i'm trying to feel the music man ;D)

thank you! You could watch the video on rolands website
http://www.roland.co.uk/guitar_room_catdet.asp?id=CUBE100BASS but even that can't show successfully just how smooth the sound quality is!
persevere with your 5 year old, he'll be thanking you when he's in secondary school and can't get the girls off ;D
