I have two of these heaters as they came highly recommended by my LFS.  They have been great for maintaining a consistent temperature.  My readings are always the same despite the fact the adjustment dial never matched the actual temp reading from my thermometer.  However, that's because I never previously bothered to recalibrate the heater until recently.

After installing, allow the temp in the tank to stabilize for a couple days.  Take a temp reading with a thermometer.  On the heater, there is a little "knob" on the top that you pull up, then adjust the dial to match the actual temp, and then push the knob down again.  I recently did this with my first heater and it is now accurately reflecting the temp in the tank and the minute adjustments I've made since.

The second heater I've purchased doesn't seem to be making any temp changes regardless of where I move the dial (always reading 80 F) but then I've never bothered to try recalibrating it as mentioned in the previous paragraph.  The reason I've never bothered is because the little "knob" I've referred to is next to impossible to pull up!  That would be my one complaint.  I only recently recalibrated the first heater I bought simply because I was unsuccessful in pulling the knob up until recently!  I've even tried using my teeth and it won't budge.  Maybe it's a fault of this one heater I have and I may have to return it.

Kind of wordy and I hope this makes sense.  Overall, I'm happy but that wee "knob" is my nemesis!  I would recomend trying to get this knob moving before you install the heater so it's easier once it's up and running.

Oh.. I didn't even know that you could calibrate them! I'm glad that over all they're good though, as i've had some dodgy heaters in my time!

I have 2 in my Marine tank and they haven't been any trouble at all.

I'm embarrassed to admit I just managed to pull up the knob with no trouble at all by putting the blunt end of a butter knife under the lip of the knob and prying it up!?  Simple as that Yes

And yes, a great heater.  Consistent despite temperature extremes in the house!

Quite favourably.  For a 300 Watt heater it's only £11.50 (off aquatics-online). So that's cheaper then some of the other brands (rena, tetra, visitherm ect)..

Wow!  Your online price is great!  I paid $35 CND for my Jager 75W and $40 CND for the 100W at the LFS.
