Is there any chance you can get a picture of the fish? In saltwater, it's unlikely to be a fungal infectionm as there are very few fungi that can tolerate the salt. It could however be a bacterial infection, but I wouldn't like to say with out seeing the fish first.
Cool.
To answer your other questions, yes, you can use tea tree oil, but, it needs to be emulsified in water first, which usually involves shaking it very well in a bottle. I wouldn't use it in the tank with your corals though. Methylin blue is also a good all round treatment, but, I definately wouldn't use it in your tank. If you don't have the space for a hospital tank, you can just use a bucket filled with tank water with a heater in it and an air stone.
It could be a bacterial infection. I'd get him out of the tank and treat him with the tea tree oil in a bucket.
Hi good luck with getting it sorted, all i can remember about marine clowns is that they are hard too treat because of the protective coating they have to protect them against the anemone stings!
A question for nicola, how about a freshwater bath?
A freshwater bath may just be the thing. Put him in the bucket in fresh water for 3 minuates or so, but watch very closely for signs of stress. He won't like it, but if he stops breathing or goes belly up, whip him out.
Hi Wayne i would say go for it and do exactly as Nicola has said, do a freshwater bath {water same temp as aquarium}and watch him/her very closely
I just read the first post again Hi Nicky how are you? And what you done with Wayne
ps me and my mate came to visit you and my mate Philip had Waynes guppys
Glad the fresh water bath helped! Clown fish are funny little things aren't they? lol
fish have feeling and the stupid "3 second goldfish memory span" is CRAP!!!!!! Fish aint stupid, they know the hand that feeds them whether it's salty or not
Glad the fish is pulling round
