juwel rio240 2x parrots 2x jewel cichlids 2x kribs 2x bosemans rainbows 1x common plec 5x otos 3x albino corys 3x bronze corys
Nitrites should always be '0'. If not then somethings happened in the tank to make it rise.
Regarding Algae Eaters, people say you have fish that will eat it anyway. Some other do have your normal plecs, but I've found better success with Bristlenoses, they seem to be better placed to survive with Malawis, as they seem to tolerate the water parameters and the aggression of these fish.

or if you are always picking up nitrites then theres a chance your overstocked and the filter can't cope.

hi all!! my external must be working wonders my nitrites were up to 0.5 and nitrates 40 but have come right down now to 0 and around 30
good news my largest lab is holding eggs!!! been about a week now shes very timed and doesnt show much interest at feeding time not being able to open her mouth much lol anyway this is my first time breeding these and would like to keep some fry but i dont have a breeding tank is there anything i can do or am i going to lose the lot?? cheers karl
It's going to be hard without a small tank for them.
If I where you I'd let it take it's course, you may get lucky with some of the fry managing to survive in the nooks and crannies in the tank till there a decent size.
