    Algae growth

     Hello,

    Iam in process of setting up a marine tank. Added the live rock a week ago but have had no algae growth. Is this right as i thought it was supposed to grow very quickly.  have used RO water and the salinity and temperature are ok. Is it wise to put snails etc in without any alage.?

    Thanks

     Hi algea takes a little time to appear so not that unusual?

    If memory serves me right {unlikely2funny}i believe you get brown algea first then green and if you got live rock,then you may get the corraline algea? Also you may get a slime type appear aswell?

    Hopefully some one with more experience will be able to answer more fullyBig Smile

    As for the snails and clean up crew i would just add a few for now and see how they settled? {also don't forget to aclimatise them extremly slowly!}
