Sorry, don't know much on them.

I remember seeing them in a book I had on tropical fish, and noticed it said they where one of the more demanding fish to be kept, how true this was I'm not sure.  It was in a 'community fish' book mind you.

Hopefully someone else will have more info than that.

The Celebes Half Beak is a very active schooling fish . Males of this species have very colorful fins and a black lobe on the lower jaw. Females have less color in the fins and have a red or uncolored lobe.

A community aquarium with plants, rocks, caves, and driftwood is well-suited for this fish. A small school should be kept with other peaceful fish of similar size. The tank should be covered since this fish tends to jump.

A carnivore, the Celebes Half Beak should be fed live foods or frozen foods, freeze-dried bloodworms and tubifex, as well as high quality flake foods.

thats what i found out anyhow

2 sword tails (sophie, karen ) , 1 black shark (Al) R.I.P) ,1 golden sucking catfish (bannana) 1 silver sucking cat (Lionel) ,3 brnoze corys (fred, norman and nigel), 3 white clouds  (little fishies),  2 Kuhli loaches (iggy and pop), 2 zebra danio (roberto and Garth),

I remember when I first saw these when I was working at MA, a long time ago now.  I took a pair home and they were fantastic.  They were active, peaceful, eat very well but left all the fish alone (I dont remember what tank mates they were with).  My female did give birth but they turn and eat the babies before they even pop out (livebearers with big big babies) - I always wondered how they could successfully have babies as they eat their yuoung so quick!
