I haven't been in a gardening mood of late and have let some things slip......quite a bit. But the other day I was down the garden and the plant pond is a MASS of watersoldiers, its quite impressive. It look like its awash with pineapple tops.

A few weeks? back I think I saw a newt spawning which is very pleasing and a couple of days ago I found a 2nd species of dragon fly. This time a 4" biggy which must have emerged from the pond as its wings were crumpled, i.e. not fully inflated. Sadly though it had been caught by the rain and that seems to stop the inflation process so I doubt this one will breed or that it will have survived the night but I am hopeful that it wont have been the only one of its kind in the ponds.

I need to rework the plant pond as there was an accident last year that caused the liner to balloon and the sides to collapse but that's going to be an awkward job. I haven't been able to use the fish pond's stream this year as plant roots have breached and opened one of the joints I made in the out flowing stream and I will have to remake that stream. In general there are tadpoles, froglets and frogs in abundance and because the heron? got all but ONE of my goldfish the fish pond is now also well populated with tadpoles

Yep Eddd, all but one and it took me until two weeks ago to see that one, vac'd the bottom of the pond and no dead fish down there, just 3 or 4 dead female frogs full of spawn and quite a bit of muck. So I reckon Hagar had a feast.
