A freind of mine is thinking of getting a pond for his garden but was looking to buy one of these.

Pond products

He wants to put some small goldfish in there but how would he go about setting up a filter, apart from putting in one of those pump/filter comby ones. If you fitted a normal filter outside it would look a bit unsightly.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks, lilac (what do people call you?)

Must admit I can't think of anything apart from a combi pump/filter without it spoiling the look

i've been having a look around, both on the net and at local lfs and garden centres, and it seems like the best option is gonna be an in pond pump filter thing, don't know a lot about em, but in a little pond like that, i can't see a lot of probscucumber

it's my union flag and i want it back

Thanks bigedd, I thought that would be the best option. I'm going out for a look round myself this morning.

i'll pass this on to my friend. Never seen anything like your set up before looks really good, like an outside aquarium.

If he could conceal the plumbing my thoughts would run to a pressurised filter but there have been problems with some of those. I suspect it would be likely that he would require valves on the inlet and outlet pipes to facilitate cleaning of the filter.

This said what volume of water does that hold?

you could build a box to hous a filter and make it in to a seat so you can sit out with a few beers on a sunny day if we get one that is
