Hi, I'm fairly new to the site even though I've been registered for quite a while,

I have a four foot tank with approximately 15 malawi cichlids but I have a problem. I have just bought my first house which is a lot smaller than my parents house so I no longer have room for such a large tank and so many fish.

I am toying with the idea of selling the tank and all the fish until I can get my new house in some sort of order to start a new smaller tank. My problem is, where can I advertise my fish ? as I do not want them to go to a home and be miss treated by someone who doesn't know how to look after them. I'll pop some pictures up if anyone would like to see my cichlids or tank set up.

Thanks for your time guys

 Hi Steve and welcomewave

I can understand your concern wanting your fish to go to a good homeSmile

Indeed some pics etc of your set up would be nice. Also how much you were thinking of asking.

Personally I have no room , but maybe someone else will.

Everyone is very fish caring on here and any fish would go to a very good homeYes

There are sites such as this where you can advertise too http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/

Hi, Thanks for your help, I'll get some pictures up at the weekend. I'm not after much to be honest.

Here is a basic breakdown of what I have

TANK

1. 120cm x 30cm x 40cm approx tank (has angled corners) no longer has slate but lava rock instead.

2. a stand and lid in limed oak effect (water damaged lid)

3. Eheim 2222 pump/filter

4. one thermostat

5. lots of lava rock and white gravel

6. various nets and cleaning apperatus (which I may keep)

FISH

2x Johannis (one male one female) 2" long

an abundance of these (the one at the back of the photograph) They are breeding like rabits with a silly amount of fry in the tank. They vary in size, two males 2" long and lots of females (approx 5) plus fry.

unknown identity

1x yellow lab

1x red zebra (small and yellow approx 1" long, was a fry to a couple of orange red zebras I sold back to the fish shop)

1x female Alunacarus (spelling?) the electric blue male got stuck in a rock while I was on holiday, I was devastated.(picture of male below)

I'd take silly offers to move these fish on to a new home,

They are based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

As froggy has already said, Aqauarist Classified is a good starting point.
