Hi all
I am a total newbie regarding fish but am starting a 4ft tropical setup.
I hope that i achieve my goal as have been waiting many years to do this as time was scarce as i have 4 girls and now youngest has started full time at school which means time to kill :)
hi yer,
great project, do you have a tank in mind, my best advice to you would be, to read up a lot, esp on cycling the tank, once it all makes sense it makes life a lot easier and the basics are pretty simple and it will same you time and pain, also its quite a slow process so dont expect to put fish in your tank for a few weeks, take time to look around and think what you want to do with your tank, research your fish before you buy and dont be afried to ask questions, the only stupid question is the one you dont ask. di
Always remember that you are unique; just like everyone else.
Hi there :)
My youngest also started school last week, although she is only half days. Its my husband who has the time to kill though, I'm at work and miss out :(
I only joined the board a short time ago, I'm not new to fishkeeping but I am to tropicals. I can say for certain that they are really helpful and tolerant of lots of questions!
Good luck with your new setup, and whilst planning is key to getting a good start its also important to know what you don't need to stress about so you can enjoy the fish when you get them

Hi and welcome
Hi Mysty and Welcome,
Do you have any idea on what you want to keep? Have you got a set up in mind (i.e. planted, biotope, genreral community etc) or an idea of what fish you want.
Don't forget you need to cycle your tank before adding fish:
