Hi there,
I have one oscar who lives in a tank with a decorated catfish.  He is the most fussy eater I have ever owned! He only likes red blood worm! I have tried every different type of cichlid stick on the market and he spits them all out! I have tried frozen cichlid diet, cockles and fozen fish but they all get rejected! Any ideas on what I can do? Michelle. :uglystupid2:

have you tried earthworm (chopped), blood worm is ok to a point but doesn't have all the nutrients for him, you could also starve him for a few days, it won't hurt him, and he'll probably be glad of anything by the time food comes round again

I know this is probably a silly question but is that earthworms from the garden or do I get them from the pet store? M.

i think it depends on whether or not there are pesticides in your garden, but most peeps i know use garden worms and tell me that its fine to do this. They tend to reckon its minimal risk (from pesticides), at the end of the day you cant guareentee the quality from live food from a shop anyway
hmmm, cant shift this name

make sure to wash earthworms first. you can get them from angling shops if theres any near you.

If you're digging your own keep them in damp newspaper for a couple of hours at least to let the gut contents pass out.

7 8 tanks (tropicals) Big Smile, and a pond.
