Lower Earley (Nr Reading), Berkshire.

14/05/06
Water Hawthorn flowering well and has been for 3 - 4 weeks
Several Lily Pads on surface - 1st appeared around 22/4/06
Several Frogbit plantlets spotted around 5th May
Rushes growing well, about 2.5 feet tall
Pickerel starting to go well now after being split and repotted 3 weeks ago
Marsh Marigold is putting on it's best display ever, still covered in flowers, first flowers opened around 8th April
Minature Iris has two flower buds 14th May
Lobellia is putting on good growth
Yellow flag Iris, grown from seed doing well, this is their 2nd year, will they flower?

Fish have been spawing on and off since 7/5/06, at least that's when I found the first spawn.

Saw first damsel fly of the year 13th May

19 May
Marsh Marigold has taken a beating from the high winds today, lost a large amount of flower stems and leaves and has had to be repotted

First of the miniature Iris flowers has opened

Yellow flag iris (grown from seed, 2 years old) about to open it's first ever flower.

Chucked in a couple of Water Hyacinth

The first 'full size' iris is out at last (I'm sure it was blue last year  :-\ )

The mini Iris again, the flowers are only 2 inches tip to tip

All these Iris's were originally the same colour, blue and white like the one in the bottom right

2nd lily bud on the surface, with a 3rd close behind. Hope this is the start of a record year for lily's in the Porter pond. Never had more than one at a time before.
