I have a black pacu which has outgrown the tank - a common problem I've been told. I took him on when he was small & didn't realise what he was or how big he would grow. He's now about 12" long in a 3' x 12" tank. Not good I know but I don't know what to do! He's on his own as the other fish have gradually died. I can't get him a friend as the tank isn't big enough and the ph keeps crashing despite frequent water changes. He's now stressed & I don't know what else to do. I've tried to find him a new home but have not had any luck. I'm not really an fish expert and have only had small fish before. I haven't got room for a bigger tank & wouldn't have a clue how to get him out of the one he's in anyway. Help!

hmm, this is a tough one. Are there any aquariums located near to you? They may be able to take him off your hands? Or is there any good fish shops near you who can take him?
Thanks for the suggestion - I've posted a note on their forum so I'll see if anyone responds
I've now put an ad on aquarist classifieds and also left my details with some local aquatic shops so hopefully he'll soon have some new friends
Thanks for your help, I'll keep you posted with the outcome
