    Not another Bluedave set up!

As Richy said on another thread, New baby = New tankBig Smile

So this is the latest one, 12 litre (2.5 UK gal). 24W of lighting and will be setting up a Dennerle CO2 compact, planted with just a single anubias and riccia. Going to add some hair grass when my LFS has some in and thats it. Nice and simple, will let the riccia become a nice carpet interspersed with hairgrass. Going to add 5 shrimp and a couple of fish.

Anybody got any ideas, i though a pair of cezch Rams or a shoal of 5/6 small tetras/rasboras, what do peeps think?

    Hi Stingrays,

Don't know much about puffers - thought they were brackish and you could only keep the one?

Brackish water not good for riccia.

Would the puffers cause problems with the shrimp!?  They're supposed to chomp on snails aren't they?  I don't know anything about them so please forgive my ignorance but I've seen a few puffer set-ups in small tanks and I think they look great.  I'd give it a go myself but I read a thread on here somewhere about having to cut their teeth and I don't really think I'd fancy that...

Separate note, but loving the new smiley cucumber

I'm a bit ignorant about the puffers too - hoping stingrays will enlighten uscucumber

Rally leaning to a pair of Rams.

Hi yes some puffers require brackish but some can be kept in fresh so correct I/D is important! Yes shrimps are a tasty snack for puffers!Big Smile.

If i was you i would go with the rams and cardinelsYes

I would say cardinals if you want a shoal of colour DaveSmile

Puffers are best kept in a species tank as they can be very aggressive and can rip other small fish to bitsYes

Very intelligent and cute little fish thoughSmile

Kept Cardinals in most of my other set ups lilac and have a shoal of 14 in the Trigon, was thinking of something a bit different.

    Thanks for the input thoughYes

I'm really leaning towards the Rams to be honest.

a few rams would look really good, and stop setting up tanks, otherwise ill set the banana on you, di

Always remember that you are unique; just like everyone else.

It's been just over a week, so i htought i'd give youe some updated pics.

I've added some hairgrass this week, some shrimp and got the deneerle CO2 compact up and running and would you look at the growth on that riccia!Yes

General idea is too let the riccia become a carpet covering the whole substrate with the hairgrass growing through. The 'theme' is a summer meadow, with the anubias being the tree in the corner - man i've been talking to architects too much!2funny
