    New 190L Set-up

Well, as some of you may already know, I've decided to downgrade, so I'll update as I go.

Just really starting the thread up and I'll add to it.

Tank to be used is a Fluval 190 Venezia Corner Unit.   Goes lovely with the living room Decor.

It's a very nice tank Frank Smile. Will you be using the filter that comes with it?

    Re: New 190L Set-up

LOL.................no mate, you haven't.  Was playing on my mind about getting the Trigon back from the bro-in-law because I could tell he liked it and then got wind of this tank.  It's far more appealing to me than the Trigon due to the design of it.

Nic - Yes, I will be using the external.  It's a Fluval 205 and my previous experience of Fluval's have been fine.  Will be using it only for Rowaphos and Carbon anyway.  I actually like the output section as it has like 2 flow nozzles which can be put in different positions.

The tank will be set-up in the same way my previous 2 tanks have run.

Expect the set-up to be as follows:-

    25kg Live Rock

    Deltec MCE300

    Korallia Pumps (x2)

    Fluval 205 External - for Rowaphos/Carbon only

    T5 lighting (x2 Whites)

    Moonlight LED strips

The yellow tang and Regal tang will have to go, they are small at the moment, so I will move them on once I've sorted everything out, the Chromis I may just keep a single.  Everything else will stay and I'll add to clean up crew as I don't think I have many Turbo Snails and RL Hermits left.

I'm quite keen to add a little Okinawae Goby, it would've looked lost in the 6 footer, but think it'll look fine in here.

    Re: New 190L Set-up

    Forgot to add:-

The T5 unit is actually programmable so I can set up the lighting hours, seems easy enough to set-up too. There’s also a pre-drilled section for the external filter.

Good thing is, whilst I have spent a lot of money on the old venture the selling off of items I won’t be needing will pay for everything and give me a bit spare for other stuff (non-fishy) too.  Tunze Units have covered my expenses for Korallias and Deltec and a bit more also.  May even buy a back-up 205 just in case any problems with the one I have.

thats a spanking good tank, and fluval are such a great company, ive had a couple of occasions to ring their customer service department and theyve sent out new bits free of charge the next day and most of the time it was really down to operational error, with two of their tank and three external filters i can honestly say ive had very few problems and none which werent sorted immediately. di

Always remember that you are unique; just like everyone else.

    Re: New 190L Set-up

Got the moonlight LED's yesterday and have stuck them onto the lid, looks quite good although I did prefer the effect the old ones I had which where more like a spotlight effect.   Although this will give the tank an overall effect which will be beneficial I guess anyway.

As mentioned on another thread, the Fluval is installed but just need something to put in it.  I have Rowa Carbon & Phos but I don't have any bags for them.  Will run it anyway until I get the Rowa things sorted.

So I'm thinking that I can just start with doing up the tank.  Will fill it up with the old tank water and bump in Live Rock that I need.  Think I've already got a buyer for the rest of the rock (or practically it all), I'll maybe try and get the fish out but not sure with the remaining rock in there that it might be too much hassle.

Have a couple of spare powerhead which I can use until I have the Korallias in place.

Will update with pics as I go.

    Re: New 190L Set-up

Over the weekend got everything put over.

In terms of equipment, will be setting up the Skimmer (MCE300) and install the 2 Korallia pumps.  Currently running the external and Sera Pump.

Have roughly around 25-30kg of Live Rock.

Tank currently only has 2 x Ocellaris Clowns, 1 x Starcki Damsel and Cleaner Shrimp.  Habitants to follow from old set-up are:-  Blood Shrimp, Ps. Fridmani and possibly a single Chromis but not decided.  Think I'll get a Okinawae Goby as I've always been looking at one of them, so this tank is a lot smaller and think it'll be a nice addition.

Still need to add Rowaphos/carbon, think I'll opt for the sponges, these will go in the external or the Deltec if that is possible.

have you bought the skimmer frank?

i have neve used an MCE300 but i have heard they are not that good and people who buy one rapidly upgrade to a MCE600.

    maybe worth thinking about.
