hello i have a 6" red tailed giant gourami hes in a 100g at the moment and want to put a fish or two large ones with him they will end up in a 400/500g in a couple of years any ideas?? thanks
you could try Angelfish as long as the tank is large enough, Bala Sharks, Clown Loaches, Danios, Rainbowfish are a few others that might be ok. di
Always remember that you are unique; just like everyone else.
di, he'd have all them for dinner eventually, lol, giant g's really are giants
something like an arro or snakehead, a big tigrinus, any thing that'll grow over a foot
giant gouramis are great fish and can become really tame
it's my union flag and i want it back

We saw a giant gourami for sale in a local lfs a few years ago.
He was a lovely silver colour and very big
Next time we went he was sold waiting to be picked up
how about a ornate bichir
I used to have one of these that was around 24" and was very tame, how ever he killed anything we tried to add, the fish he grow up with was fine though, so get a larger tank now and get the fish you want while your's is young.
JD's and severaums was fine in your tank, but if you have the space get something special like arro, bichir will be fine if the giant is small enough and their's plenty of hideing places.

In their natural habitat they'd be with snakeheads and clown knifefish, both should be robust enough to live with the gourami provided there were enough hiding places for the knifefish. Look into some of the big asian catfish too.
