Cool :) this is the first batch of fry with this male after the original one died :(

Hopefully i can raise some this time.. once the mother krib has left them to their own devices i will move them into another tank and hopefully have some to pass on :)

Cheers

Those are excellent pics Mark!

Good luck with the babies when they arrive, looking forward to seeing those pics. My pair always eat the wrigglers, I was told that when I bought them but did I listen? Huh?

Lol i was fairly lucky with mine... i had the original male and female but they wouldnt pair up.. then somebody gave me 2 other females and all 3 decided they wanted the male lol

They battled it out and the one in the picture won.. however about 5 weeks ago my male died :( on the off chance i phoned the Lfs, and luckily they had 2 males.

As soon as i put the males in the alpha female chose the other male to be hers.. but in the end the bigger male pushed him out and the two in the picture are the result..

i do have another male and 2 females who will be, going into a different tank asap so hopefully they will, well at least 2 will form a new pairing.

Cheers

That is my worry with these 2. she has bred before and raised the fry to the stage of letting them go off alone, but then they got eaten..

As this is her first batch with this male i am more worried he will eat them..

hopefully he wont but it is a common thing with first batches..

I bred kribs for several generations back in the '80s and kept the local shops stocked up for a while, it was like a factory - wouldn't be surprised if the fish I have now are descendants of those! Makes it harder to take that I can't do it now. They used to be so EASY.......

I'm blown away with your photos mate, very nice! Are the other fish keeping away or being kept away (assuming it's a community setup)?
