Richy Idea [I] Posted: 4-13-2008 18:22

My LFS was sent 10 Yellow Labs from our supplier as cover for delivery which we didn't actually want. We only keep the more peaceful cichlids and leave the more "boistrous" cichlids to other shops with larger dedicated cichlid setups, we don't have the space.

They're stunning but we can't/won't sell them as no one seems to have the right dedicated cichlid systems as most of our customers have nice planted community setups, you know the type Smile

List of the cichlids we keep normally;

Bolivian and Blue Rams, Angels, Apisto Agassizi(sp) and Apisto ?? forgot the name right now but look very similar.

What other kinds of fish could they go with?

I'm pressuming many bottom dwellers like plecs and Syno's etc will be ok, how about larger cory's?

Could someone give me some names of compatiability YL will mix with please as we don't want to keep them forever but at the same time have to go to the right enviroment Smile

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have recently setup a malawi tank :) i have some labs on order due to be delivered on thursday..pitty you wasnt closer lol
They can go with plecs, and also syno cats..
I am not sure about cory's tho m8?
You could go check out the http://www.malawiforum.co.uk/index.php and ask on there..
The obvious answer is any malawi would be ok and the ones i said above i know are ok.. the rest i dunno lol
Cheers
Mark

PS: just looked and i forgot to add the most common one they have with malawi is the bristle noses m8

Mate, remember these fish like higher PH's, so the others won't be as high I would presume.

Are you actually keeping the fish or is the dealer coming to pick them up again?

If there are no spare tanks have you got one of those big plasticy storage boxes that they could go in?  Just a case of transferring some water over and you could even use some buffer to bring up the PH (is the shop has it).

They're in their own tank at the lfs and the PH 7.6. They're all happy and  feeding on frozen meaty foods and veggie block.
If it comes to a push I might have a word with Della and see if they'll take them from us.

Ah right, well guess it's just a case of trying to sell them off.

Good luck with that.
