Well i think i know, but it best to check if what im about to do is a good idea
Ive been contacted by some one changing from freshwater to marine, and they want me to take the following fish
~10 Head and tail light tetra~10 Glowlight tetra 4 bronze corydoras 3 danios (2 zebras 1 pearl) 2 psudotropheus acei (one 3" one 4") 1 Gold severum (5-6inches) Bristlose plec pair
and here are the specs of my current tanks
trigon 190 with pair of angels, 4 pictus cats, 5 columbian tetras (quite big for tetras and fast) couple of large corys, half a doz half grown bristlenose plecs, and now 4 simese algae eaters whiuch ive jut moved from the large fluval tank
in the fluval 1200 deep, are whats left of my blue moscow guppies, several types of cories, a breeding pair of bristlenose plecs, pair of bolivan rams and 22 cardinal tetras (see previous help post)
What do you think, what would you put where, the severum im not sure off and might have to rehome
Hi Fishyfeet, Thats alot of fish there! Yes the severum would/could be a problem?{so best to re home} The corys should be ok in either tank?
I would also leave the bristlenoses alone aswell since you already have a 'pair' in each tank!
The ten head and tail lights and ten glowlights - depends on there size as i would add them to the larger tank, but depends on how boisterus they are and how 'placid' the cardinels are? or you could put on 'set' of each in each tank?
But to be honest having had loads of fish given to me,i sudenly find myself with tanks full of fish i did not necersarialy want
Hope this helps
ps i have invited you to be one of my friends aswell
the pseudotropheus acei is a malawi and couldn't go in either - it would make short work of the angels and rams - bad mix
21G: ADFs, Amano, Cherry and Tiger Shrimp50G: Pearl Gouramis, Guppies, Neons, Lemons, Pygmy Cories, Otos, Clown Plec, bristlenose pleco, platies, swords50G: Tall, bowfront SA setup, Angels, Festivums, Rams, Pictus', Raphael, bristlenose pleco(10g QT tank)80g: Mbuna, Red Zebras, Yellow Labs, Blue Cobalts, Lab Hongis, Bumblebees, Syno M.punctatus, Plec
hmmm ok thankyou you two, im rehomeing the pseudotropheus acei, the severum and the (joke female bristlenose).
the pair of bristlenoses turned out to be one strangley male, which is ok, he is about 4 inch i suppose much slimmer than my males, still .....
and what i assume they think is a female bristlenose plec is bordering on 9 inchs and well fat. Im not sure what sort of plec it is, but its certainly not a b/n maybe a common, di
stingrays4: ps i have invited you to be one of my friends aswell
thanks for you help james, i havent receifved any invite but ill add you anyway, have you added yourself.? di
Hi thanks fishyfeet
yes got myself as a friend sad eh
Head and tail light tetras are also known as beacon tetras. We have some and they are quiet and keep themselves to themselves. We originally got them because they looked so good in the tank in the lfs. Just like little bright lights swimming round. Of course back home in high lighting they looked nothing. But as they have grown, they get a bit more colour and shine more. Haven't got many left now though.
Do the fast colombian tetras not worry the angels Di?
Not at all jan, in fact the tetras keep away from the angels, the cats are prob the worse, but they stay at the bottom most of the time and the angels keep away from them, but since theyve grown together both are a resonable size to cope with each other if that makes sense.
the glowlights are shy and stay hidden most of the time so im worried about those the most, the bigger malawi is in a keep net and hopefully ill re home them soon as although he doesnt seem to touch the angels i can see they are wary of him/her not sure which is which.
That's good then Suppose if they have grown up together they are used to each other
Will you eventually put the angels in the Fluval deep or is it about the same as the trigon in depth? Has the length though
trigons much keeper, the fluvals new deep range are 40 cms deep whereas the juwel trigon 190 is 60cm deep, much better for ages, although they call their new fluvals deep its because they are deeper than the other orignal ones which my 800 is. di
well ive managed to re-home the severum, the malawis, and the large plec, ive actually grown to like them in the week ive had them, but i know the severum and malawis with grow, esp the severum and my tank is unsuitable for them, as the plec well its far too big as it is, and im sure its gonna get bigger, pity such lovely fish, still its better for them to be with their own kind, and bigger tanks. di
