Are there any plants that thrieve or do ok near rapid water movement? I need some, di
There are afew Di, you want to go for plants from fast flowing streams - I've got a few in mind but as my tanks are all slow movers let me check in the 'old books' tonight when i'm at home, to make sure I don't give the wrong advice.
1xTrigon 1903 Clown Loaches,14 Cardinal Tetras,8 Rummynose Tetras,6 Cory Trileneatus,6 Hatchetfish,4 otocinclus,1 SAE,1 Bristlenose,, 10 amano Shrimp
Anubius Barteri,Crinum thianum,Limnophilia sessiflora, Echinodorus Blehri, nymphaea lotus, Ammania Senegelis, Crinum calimustratum, java moss, 1xRekord 60Empty at Present
12 litre tank - 4 japonica shrimp, 4 Red crystal shrimp, 5 High Spot Rasbora
Anubias Barteri, Glossostigma Elatanoides, Ammania Senegalisis, Limnophilia Sessiflora, Bacopa amplexicaulis
Right - according to Peter HIscock in his book, suitable plants for fast flowing water are:
Sagitarria pusilla
Java fern
Fontinalis antipyretica (willow moss)
Bolbitis heudelotii
Vallisneria gigantea
I would add to this -
any vallis
Crinum thianum
Anubias species
Bacopa monnieri
all pretty sturdy and do well in fast water
Hope that helps.
