Hi all, first question for you! My girlfriend has a pair of Limnochromis Auratis of which the male came down ill. The lfs recommended the use of Octozin as we couldn't diagnose the problem. He has recovered but now appears to act as if blind, he shuffles along looking for food and doesn't respond to any external stimulus. Any suggestions, didn't know fish could go blind but is that just me being naive?
Cheers all,
James.

yeah fish can go blind and i know exactly what you mean about the shuffling, i have had that in the past after using octozing. it was like the fish was on its last legs and i honestly thought it was going to die. but it lasted for weeks like it. i never did know what it was, i guess it may have been some kind of internal infection.

We put him into quarantine to be treated, then after the course put him back into the main tank and then we noticed his apparent 'blindness'. He's better than before (condition wise) but still much darker than his mate. We feed tetra prima so he gets some when that sinks. What do u recommend we do for him or just leave him be?
Cheers,
James.

you could try a general tonic, i don't know really i tried another dose of octizin on mine as well as leaving it a week and trying melafix but he just stayed the same.

Cheers for the advice, we'll prob just leave him now he's back in the main tank.... he's eating at least. There goes our breeding project though! :'(

My catfish might be blind but i don't know. He doesn't know where his food is or where the walls of his bowl are. He constantly jumps out of the water onto my desk but the people who work at the place i got him at say that he's fine. do you know what's going on?

 Hi catfish

Would be best if you can ask your question again in the catfish section if you are being seriousSmile

Also a bowl isn't appropriate he'd be better in a proper tank.
